Hyderabad, India | Office-based | Full-time | In-person and online classes

About Siva Visa
Siva Visa is an Australian migration and education agency with offices in Melbourne and Hyderabad. We help students and skilled professionals plan and achieve their pathway to Australia, from English test preparation to study and visa applications.

The role
We are looking for an experienced PTE & IELTS teacher to run our exam preparation classes from our Hyderabad office. You will teach students in person in the classroom and online through live video lessons. Our online students and clients join from all over the world. Most of our students need a specific score for an Australian university offer, a skills assessment or a skilled visa (for example PTE 65 / IELTS 7 for Proficient English, or PTE 79 / IELTS 8 for Superior English, which adds 20 migration points). Your job is to get them there as efficiently as possible.

What you will do

• Teach group batches and one-to-one sessions, both in the classroom and online
• Run live online classes from the office using the professional setup we provide (Zoom / Google Meet, headset, webcam, digital whiteboard)
• Deliver structured courses of 4 to 16 weeks for PTE Academic and IELTS Academic / General Training
• Run a diagnostic test for every new student and build a clear study plan with a target score and timeline
• Teach all four skills (speaking, writing, reading, listening) with a focus on scoring criteria and high-value task types, such as PTE Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence, Write from Dictation and IELTS Writing Task 2
• Mark writing and speaking tasks and give written, practical feedback within 48 hours, including recorded speaking tasks from online students
• Hold a full mock test at least every 2 weeks and record results in our student tracker
• Keep online students engaged and accountable, with the same attention and results as students in the classroom
• Report student progress to the Siva Visa team weekly, and flag students who are ready to book their real exam
• Keep course materials up to date with the latest PTE and IELTS format changes
• Help build our teaching resources: question banks, templates, strategy sheets and short video lessons
• Support student engagement through free demo classes, workshops and webinars, and refer students who need study or visa advice to our consultants

How we measure success

• Percentage of students reaching their target score, in person and online
• Average score improvement between the first diagnostic and the final mock test
• Student attendance, retention and course completion
• Student reviews and referrals

What we're looking for

• At least 2 years of experience teaching PTE and/or IELTS
• Experience teaching online, and confidence running engaging live lessons on camera
• Your own recent score of PTE 79+ or IELTS 8+ (or equivalent native level English)
• Deep knowledge of PTE and IELTS formats, band descriptors and scoring logic
• Experience with online practice platforms (for example APEUni, Alfa PTE, E2 Language or similar)
• Confident classroom presentation and the ability to explain complex things simply
• Patient, supportive and results-focused approach
• Organised, reliable and comfortable using Google Workspace or similar tools to track progress

It would be an advantage if you have

• A proven record of students achieving their target scores (please include examples in your application)
• CELTA, TESOL, TEFL or a degree in English, linguistics or education
